I love to perform and compose fiddle tunes, especially for dancers. My CD of original fiddle tunes TO HAVE AND TO HOLD and five books of original fiddle tunes, Giblitz Fancy, Hunters and Gatherers, Anna's Smile, The Fool's Journey and my newest book The Higgs Boson Blues are available here.On the Tunes page you will find all of my tunes freely available as scores in PDF or ABC and as midi and some mp3 files for download as well as a few links to & and links to You Tube. I only ask that if you intend commercial use for any of my tunes, please contact me first for arrangement of very reasonable royalties payments.

Teaching
I am the fiddle instructor at the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music. I give private and group lessons on fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo, or guitar.Performance
I am performing in a few different groups.- Skewlines
The newest band features Barbara Denz (vocals), David Denz (vocals, uilleann pipes, flute, cittern, & guitar), Kerri Brown
(vocals, fiddle, guitar and bodhran), and myself (vocals, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin and tenor banjo).
Starting with our common love of the Celtic tunes and songs we've put together some of our favourites and created some hauntingly lovely and powerful sets. We are excited at the prospect of sharing this music with the world. We are also exploring other culures and of course our own compositions to broaden our repertoire. I feel privilaged to be playing with such fine musicians.

Guy and I have a great time whether it's playing for a local dance or busking at a Farmer Market or playing on a mainstage at a festival, we're just a couple of fiddling fools getting toes tapping and folks smiling. This is where I get to play a lot of my 250 original tunes.
- Stringularity Featuring Anita Anderson (piano), Rich Sobel on Fiddle and Mandolin, and Paul on Fiddle and Tenor Banjo.
I'm sitting between to highpowered dance players and all of us write tunes for contra. Too much fun!
- Giblitz Fancy Featuring Anita Anderson (piano), Brad Reynolds (accordion, penny whistle, and fiddle), and myself (fiddle and mandolin)
I'm such a lucky boy, here again I get to play with top players. All fine tunesmiths and Anita in my opinion is one of the finest contra dance piano players in North America. Brad and I have a blast playing with her and our two instruments blend so beautifully they are sometimes indistinguishable.
- Charlotte Diamond and the Hugbug Band Charlotte (vocals and guitar),
Bob Wisinski (keyboards), David Jonsson (drums), Lee Oliphant (Bass), and myself (guitar, mandolin, fiddle and tenor banjo)
This is a thoroughly professional group who have been together since 1985 playing on Charlotte's 13 albums and performing with her at the larger venue performances. We play for kids and families and get them dancing and singing in the isles. Check the Events page for details of up coming Dances, Sessions, and Concerts where I'll be performing.
Recording
Glitchless provides production, mixing, and mastering services. Located in Nanaimo B.C. Canada. I am available for mixing and mastering or for recording production.
